Grade 9 English: Philosophical Thinkers
Philosophical thinkers can include: Socrates, Plato, Aristotle, Zeno, Epicurus, Descartes, Kant, Kierkegaard, Simone de Beauvoir, and Nietzsche. Student groups must individually research their particular topic using the following sources: encyclopedias, journals of philosophy, and philosophical texts. The information required includes: dates and city/country of the philosopher, important influences, response to information, and philosophy regarding what they believe it means to be human.
