Saturday, January 27: My First 150 Days (2017). This documentary follows the Banico family, newly arrived from the Philippines, during their first 150 days in Toronto, capturing the emotional journey of starting fresh in a new land. When she departed her rural village for Canada nearly a decade ago, Melona Banico left her family behind. Now, she is sponsoring her three children and a grandson as immigrants.

Saturday, February 24: The Big Sick (2017). Kumail is a Pakistani comic who meets an American graduate student named Emily at one of his stand-up shows. As their relationship blossoms, he soon becomes worried about what his traditional Muslim parents will think of her. When Emily suddenly comes down with an illness that leaves her in a coma, Kumail finds himself developing a bond with her deeply concerned mother and father.

Saturday, March 24: Beatriz at Dinner (2017). Beatriz is a Los Angeles massage therapist and holistic healer who drives to the seaside mansion of her client Cathy. When her old Volkswagen breaks down, she receives a friendly invitation from Cathy to stay for a seemingly innocent business dinner. As the guests arrive and the wine starts to flow, Beatriz finds herself in an escalating war of words with Doug Strutt, a ruthless real estate mogul who cares more about money than people.

Saturday, April 21: House of Sand and Fog (2003). Reformed drug addict Kathy Nicolo has her California coast house, which she inherited from her father, taken away by the county due to a misunderstanding about back taxes. The place is bought by Iranian immigrant Massoud Amir Behrani, who intends to fix it up and sell it in order to provide a better life for his wife and son. However, Kathy, desperate to get the house back, begins harassing Behrani so he will return it.
