The Library offers storytime programs for children from birth up to six years. Follow the links for times, locations, and other information relating these events.
Mother Goose Babies (Open Attendance): Birth to 12 months (accompanied by an adult)
Mother Goose Babies is a loosely structured program for parents and their babies. This half-hour program focuses on the pleasure of using rhymes, songs, and stories together. Please bring a blanket or mat for your baby.
Mother Goose Babies (YMCA Ontario Early Years): Birth - 12 months (accompanied by an adult)
Co-sponsored by YMCA Ontario Early Years Centre. Mother Goose Babies is a loosely structured program for parents/caregivers and their babies. Parents/caregivers learn songs and rhymes which encourage one-on-one interaction with their children.
Time for Toddlers (Open Attendance): 12 to 24 months (accompanied by an adult)
Time for Toddlers is a relaxed, loosely structured program aimed at toddlers twelve to twenty-four months. This half-hour program is an introduction to books and includes finger plays and songs for parents to enjoy with their toddlers. Since very young children thrive on routine and repetition, we will follow the same basic format each week.
Toddler Time (Open Attendance): 12 to 36 months (accompanied by an adult)
Toddler time is a relaxed, loosely structured program designed for children 12 to 36 months. At this program, parents share with their children stories, songs, and other activities.
Tales for Two's (Open Attendance): 24 to 36 months (accompanied by an adult)
Tales for Two's is designed for toddlers from two years up to their third birthday. At this program parents share with their children stories, songs, and other activities in a weekly 30 minute session. As the children become accustomed to the program the stories that are told may become longer.
Storytime encourages three to five year olds to participate in a library program without their parents. The children enjoy books, songs, and other activities in a weekly 30 minute session that focuses on a special theme each week. Parents must remain in the Library while their child is in this program.
Join us weekly for thirty minutes of stories, songs and fingerplays for children and their parents or caregivers.
