High School Arts Contest and Celebration

The Richmond Hill Public Library (RHPL) Arts Contest is our community's opportunity to recognize and celebrate the talent of our creative teens. The annual contest and celebration showcases the written, poetic, visual and photographic art of high school students who live and/or study in Richmond Hill.

First, second, third and honourable mention awards will be issued for each category. All winners will be published in the Richmond Hill Public Library Arts Contest Anthology. Winners are also celebrated among their peers at our Arts Contest Celebration at Central Library on May 7, 2019.

Entering the Contest

Our submission form is now online! All participants must submit an electronic submission form in order to participate in the Arts Contest. Photography, poetry and short story submissions must be submitted entirely through the form; visual arts submissions must be delivered to the library after the online form has been completed.

If you are under the age of 18, your parent or guardian must consent to your participation in the contest.

The deadline for complete submissions has been extended to Friday, February 15, 2019 at 6 p.m.
