The Richmond Hill Public Library has served its local community for more than 150 years. The Library has over 56,000 active users with an average of 23,000 people per week visiting its locations and using its services, resources and programs. It serves a population of over 200,000 Richmond Hill residents through its four locations: Central Library, Oak Ridges Moraine Library, Richmond Green Library and Richvale Library.
Each year, over 2.2 million library materials are borrowed, and more than 55,000 people attend its programs, including over 40,000 children. Electronic services are the fastest-growing area of library service, with over 2.7 million yearly website visits, e-database searches, public workstation uses, and wireless internet uses.
As identified in the Library's Strategic Plan, there are four goals that guide the direction of the Library in both the short and long-term.
